This storm system is still 2 days out and the SPC has issued a high probability for supercell thunderstorms for portions of Oklahoma and Kansas, as well as a moderate threat reaching from north Texas all the way to Iowa and Nebraska. Please find your city and be weather aware on Friday/Saturday. Right now this is looking very troubling. Know where you need to go incase of a Tornado; basement or shelter if you can. If that is not available, get to the lowest level of a STURDY building. If you are in a mobile home, get out. If you are driving, get into a sturdy building. If there are no buildings around, get into a low-lying area, such as a ditch. Be smart and proactive. If you have family in this region, please get in contact with them and let them know to keep their eye on the weather for Saturday. The last time I saw a high risk in our area was last May, when 2 EF-3, 2 EF-4, and 1 EF-5 tornado touched down in Oklahoma alone. I wouldn’t freak out, call it the end of the world, or get scared. Just be smart and watch the weather, and have a plan in place. I’m not a meteorolgist, but I have lived in Oklahoma my entire life and know when to take the weather seriously. Don’t be stupid. I myself will be riding out whatever we get on Saturday in the southern edge of the pink… Stay safe, everyone.
